Jolene Johnson
Jolene Johnson is a proud Wolastoqiyik entrepreneur from Neqotkuk First Nation in New Brunswick,
grounded in family and connection to the land. In 2018, she founded Wabanaki Maple, a premium
Indigenous-owned brand rooted in tradition and storytelling that has grown into a nationally recognized
name reaching customers across Canada and abroad. Her work has earned recognition including the
Resilience Award from Opportunities New Brunswick, the Female Entrepreneur of the Year award from
Ulnooweg Development Group, and the RBC Canadian Women of Influence Micro-Business Award. She
has since diversified into cabinetry as a co-owner of Wolastoq Custom Cabinets Inc. Beyond business,
Jolene is deeply committed to community and cultural revitalization, building pathways for sustainable
growth, cultural preservation, and Indigenous prosperity for future generations.
