Ginger Gosnell-Myers

Ginger Gosnell-Myers is a Nisga'a and Kwakwaka'wakw planner, policy leader, and city-builder defining what it means to design cities through Indigenous knowledge. For more than two decades, she has challenged conventional approaches to planning and development by creating new frameworks, policies, and project delivery models that embed Indigenous knowledge into the way cities are envisioned, designed, and built.

Working from within major public and private development projects, Ginger partners with governments, institutions, and interdisciplinary design teams to translate Indigenous rights, knowledge, and values into the everyday decisions that shape communities, from planning and governance to architecture, procurement, public realm design, and implementation. Her work has influenced municipal policy, informed reconciliation initiatives across Canada, and established new approaches that continue to shape professional practice.

Ginger is the first Indigenous Fellow at Simon Fraser University's Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue, a WRLDCTY Global Fellow, Board Member with Central City Foundation, and a Governor with the Real Estate Foundation of BC. Whether developing policy, leading major projects, teaching future practitioners, or contributing to public dialogue, her work is driven by a simple belief: we don't inherit better cities — we create better ways of building them – using Indigenous Knowledge.
