Agneta Granström

Agneta Granström is a Swedish healthcare leader, former elected official, and internationally recognized champion of digital health innovation. With a background as a registered nurse, chief community nurse, and lecturer at Luleå University of Technology, she holds a Master's Degree in Nursing Science, Gerontology, and Public Health. Throughout her career, she has combined clinical expertise with public policy leadership to advance healthcare transformation, particularly in the areas of eHealth, digitalization, aging populations, and integrated care.

Agneta served for more than two decades in regional and municipal government in northern Sweden, including as a member of the Executive Board of Region Norrbotten and the Boden Municipal Assembly. She founded the Assembly of European Regions (AER) eHealth Network in 2006 and went on to serve as its President, helping to shape digital health policy and collaboration across Europe. She has also held leadership roles with the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions' Digitalization Committee and has contributed to numerous European innovation initiatives focused on healthy aging, smart living environments, and healthcare transformation. Her work is driven by a commitment to collaboration and the belief that technology, when paired with strong partnerships, can improve health and social outcomes for communities worldwide.
